Screen printing is a printing process and technique that used a woven mash that is used to support the ink blocked stencil. This method involves the ink being applied directly to the surface that is to be printed on. The image is then to be printed and is photographically transferred to a very fine fabric that is known as the screen such that the non printing areas are blocked off and the fabric serves as a stencil. This process is also known as silk screening and serigraphy.
